The texts offered within this establishment are primarily transcripts and adapted titles of different works found within the game of Final Fantasy XIV, and as such are widely available online to those who know where to look. Featured Works
Compiled by Professor Sumire Hara of the Honesis Institute, this extensive work details the basis of current aetherological theory in exhaustive detail. The perfect beginning point for any who seek to better understand the underlying forces of the star.
A comprehensive look at both the Allagan Empire's rise and fall, as well as it's prolonged history of warfare with the continent of Meracydia. This work covers a great many topics, ranging from famous figures within the empire to the often genius yet depraved methods by which it attempted to subjugate its foes. A perfect companion piece to The Warring Triad, it offers a much more in depth look at how the Meracydian conflict continued, and the depths of desperation that the beset upon foes of the Allagans sank to in their final days.
The tale of Exo-Death and the Warriors of Dawn is a tale popularized by Galuf, the former leader of the Students of Baldesion. Seemingly born from stories designed to put his granddaughter to sleep, what began as simple musings transcended their initial goal and became widely acclaimed throughout the literary world. This particular volume covers not only the origins of the stories, but also Galuf's past and the strange part that such flights of fancy played in the shaping of the Garlean Empire.
A tale as old as time, the two star crossed lovers of this story have found themselves side by side across the eras. Though their love most often ends in tragedy, the fact that they continue to reborn only to fight and die in each others arms speaks of a bond that transcends both time and gender.
Generously donated by Lialle Iselin, this is a portion of the notable play written by Marielle Xavallienne. Part of a larger work that details the romance between the titular individuals, this section concerns the power of love between the two and how they might overcome their troubles thanks to their affection for each other.
Compiled by Sumire Hara of the Honesis Institute, this work covers the history of Proud Creek, a seemingly innocuous feature of Northern Gridania. Having stubbornly survived the last calamity, its history stretches far back into the time of the Gelmorran civilization, and the impact that it had upon the subterranean kingdom as well as those that are descended from its people stretch into the present day.
Initially created for classrooms of the Honesis Institute, Professor Sumire Hara provides here an immense amount of information regarding the different peoples, creatures and locations of the Azim Steppe. Whether the reader intends to visit the area or simply learn about a distant land, this is a valuable resource for those who wish to obtain information about an area that has been historically underrepresented in scholastic writings.
This work details the long and storied history of aetheryte construction and the underlying theories behind their function. Spanning from some of the earliest days of Sharlayan research to the point at which technology had come far enough to allow people to transport themselves across the star in the blink of an eye, the long journey to such developments makes for an astoundingly insightful read.
The tale of the life and betrayal of the legendary pirate One-Eyed Wilfred, as recorded from Lominsan locals by Sumire Hara. A legend that has surpassed even the man that inspired it, this tale recounts how one of La Noscea's most famous landmarks came to be, and how it was unfortunately lost in the wake of the last calamity.
Covering the many myths, legends, and true histories of the location known as Urth's Fount, this tome's contents span several eras worth of material. Once again brought into one place by Professor Sumire Hara, the tales of Odin and Urth have never been made more clear to the average reader, allowing all to gain a good grasp of this near mythical figure and his lasting impact upon Eorzea.
While many would argue that the eccentric Professor Tankin of Sharlyan is a stain that should be wiped from the pages of academia, there is little doubt that the scholar had at least some impact on the teaching practices of the reclusive island nation. The man, the myth, and the minor annoyance is expanded upon here, though it is unlikely that any will truly understand the man unless they engage in his rather odd practice of self-actualization.
A widely known passage in the Othardian provinces under Garlean rule, this tale came to prominence not among the general population, but among scholars for its rather biting satire and depictions of the Imperial war machine. Featuring a horrifically insane ruler named Kefka, it follows the efforts of fourteen souls who make it their solemn duty to bring the tyrant down and restore their homes. In addition to the base tale, this volume also features points of literary analysis and backstory pertaining to the work's author, Relm Aroanji.
An old tale rendered into splendid verse by the modern day poet Ruckus Fiddlesticks, this tragic retelling speaks of the scion of the Mandragora Kingdom and his ill-fated love. Perfect for a child or the young at heart, the words speak to the heart and imagination no less today than they did in ages long past.
One of Gridania's most well-known families, the line of Buscarron has persisted since the city-state's founding. Whether tales of valor originate from the patriarch of the family or one of the many descendants who share his name, they have proven a strong lance arm and source of wisdom for all who have visited their home over the years. This work details some of the life events of those who shared the Buscarron name as well as the current standing of this illustrious line.
Among the countless heroic figures that have graced Eorzea, there are few groups as well known as the fabled Company of Heroes. Brought together from all walks of life, these brave souls indelibly left a mark on the world in the times surrounding the fall of Dalamud and its immediate aftermath. Such was the case with Landenel, the bellicose spearman of the group, whose own history tells a tale of betrayal, guilt, and redemption.
This tell all features numerous accounts of the lives of the individuals who would grow to be famed as Fourchenault and Ameliance Leveilleur. From their Studium days to the blooming of their romantic relationship, few details are spared. Enjoy this fascinating read and insight into one of Sharlayan's most esteemed families! The librarian only takes a small amount of pleasure in the fact that the more uptight member of the Leveilleur lineage is incredibly displeased that this work made its way into his collection.
The continent of Meracydia has long been a subject of scholarly fascination, and the deities that the people of that region worshipped are no exception. Three of these gods, collectively referred to as the Warring Triad, were of particular importance during the Allagan invastion of the southern continent, and what is known about these entities is catalogued here. Written by Sumire Hara of the Honesis Institute.

Thank You For A Wonderful Year!
A greeting from the founder...
The last twelve months have been nothing short of wonderful for myself and everyone involved. That time has seen the library grow from a small apartment venue to a medium sized plot, and the memories contained within each location have only grown along with the property. From a one man show to a collaboration between three likeminded people, I could have only dreamed that Empyrean Apocrypha would have been enjoyed by so many people. I sincerely hope that as the months and, dare I hope, years go by that we can all continue to explore more stories on shelves and in the myriad souls of our star alike. In order to celebrate, I have done what any stuffy librarian would see as most helpful to both patrons and himself. That is, of course, enlisting as much help as possible in organizing the assorted wares within Empyrean Apocrypha's basement! Due compensation to be provided.-Iyrnskylt Berktyrnsyn
The Apocryphal Organization Debacle
While entirely safe to visitors, the basement of Empyrean Apocrypha is host to a number of objects which simply are unable to be displayed in the main building. However, many of these objects have been entirely lost to the library's records, thanks in no small part to the arcane organizational system that the head librarian employs. In order to correct this issue, the venue is offering compensation to those brave souls who are willing to decipher Iyrn's scrawlings to track down these objects which would otherwise remain covered in dust and lost to time. This challenge will test lore knowledge, general logic, as well as knowledge of actual housing items.
Rules
A number of clues are given to track down certain objects.
All items are present in the basement of the library.
While it cannot be enforced, all participants are asked to work alone and not share answers with each other.
Answers given should be as close to the actual name of the item as posible. Some leniency will be given, but the closer the name the more likely it will be accepted!
When an object has been located, please whisper either Iyrnskylt Berktyrnsyn or Brisket Bysnoe to deliver your answer. We will let you know if the answer is correct or incorrect. You are free to try as many times as you like!
When giving an answer, please state what clue number it relates to. We will record your answers and inform you when all clues have been correctly answered.
Above all else, have fun! Thank you all so much for your continued support. And we all look forward to another wonderful year.
Rewards
In payment for service, the following items will be provided to those who assit the library in this endeavor.
First Completion [Claimed]- A full set of 640 crafted combat gear made by the head librarian, weapon and accessories included. Please specify which job you would like at time of completion and allow about a week for delivery.

Clues
Please use the following to help locate the items required by the library to continue operations.
A powerful beast, I muster not a single roar. Upon my back a massive weight, my eyes look up from floor.
Skin of green, and shining bright, I cut a look quite sharp. Too bad I'm separate from my friends, my only chum a harp.
In the east they often say the pen defeats the sword. Nay, I say, I've far more power, breathe deep when you are bored.
They say I'm worth a thousand words, but I am only one. I'm the dream of those upon the ground who look up towards the sun.
Behold my march cross dune and cliff, soldiers at my side. Shield and staff they follow me, fists swinging in their stride.
I find myself a silent guard, made by white but heart pitch black. I only wish that I could reach and scratch my stony crack.
Duty bound I gave my life, not a favored son. With my death my brother lived, a wolf he would become.
Beneath the waves you'll find no truer friend. Treat them well, provide them treasure, and devotion they will send.
A quartet I often find myself within. My dulcet tones echo wide, though not when held to chin.
As I grow up towards the sky, trapped I do remain. My hands reach up in sharpened claws, my feet they long for rain.
Once I kept a kind knight safe, protected from all harm. Now he lies under the snow, our memories of him warm.
